About the Department

The Department of Management Studies( DOMS ) is one of the India's oldest and the most prestigious course, established as early as 2009. The objectives with which this Institute was conceived have not been abandoned; but new ones have been added up over time. Training practicing managers, innovating and professionalising management in priority sectors and the thought towards globalization have been added. These have profoundly changed the character of DOMS from a  to a multi-dimensional Institute of Management to alter the quality of life itself through excellent management. The purpose of DOMS has been to influence the way organizations are managed in the country. The Institute consequently has developed strong linkages with the practicing world and overtime its faculty members have acquired deep understanding of the issues of major concern for organizations. The education at DOMS provides conceptual knowledge to students, enhancing their capacity to resolve concrete problems and inculcate values and attitudes so that they can become effective organizational leaders. From its inceptions, DOMS has offered unsurpassed quality in its academic programs. In addition to its flagship ' Master of Business Administration, ' DOMS also offers doctorate course to foster research. HoD Profile

Dr.B.Velmurugan, MBA, M.Phil, PGDFM, PGDCA, PhD has 8 years of experience in Academic. His main teaching and research expertise are in the areas of Finance, HR and Banking. He truly believes in team work and academic leadership. He did his MBA from Anna University, Chennai. While studying Master of Business Administration, he has done Post Graduate Diploma in Financial management through Annamalai University for the duration of one year. He got his Ph.D in Management from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in the year 2019. He has presented many papers at National and International Conferences. He has published papers in Human Resource, finance and Marketing. The most recent being on Pragmatic Approach Toward E-Shopping Behavior in the European Journal of Business and Management, and on HR Management in the Indian Journal of Management.  He has attended many conferences and Faculty Development Programme. He also organized many programmes in his career relating to Entrepreneurship Development. Under the Agency of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi received the Grand of Rs.50,000/- under the scheme of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Village Adoption Scheme in the year of 2020.
